into office hours is a
seven - hour performance situated in the sever room of the
Foundation for Art and Culture
Gelderland. The performance was presented at their anniversary exhibition
8 x 5.
The object of the performance is the exhibition catalogue.
I was invited to make a contribution for the catalogue and
thought about giving an action, a movement.
I positioned myself between two shelfs, with my feet in the air.
On this spot I tore my yellow page out of the catalogue (1000 copies).
The rhythm of this action was dictated by the light, which I had
connected to a time switch. each time the small space got overexposed
for sixteen seconds, I picked a book and tore a page out. The sound
of the tearing was recorded and transmitted via the server system
throughout the office spaces in the entire building.
